It is very easy to look past just how important minor details are within films. Where it is normal to watch a flick and say that it was a great watch, without realizing the small pieces which add up to make it wonderful. It could be something simple such as the lighting, the score, or just timing things just right.
For example, Linda Blair’s character in THE EXORCIST. Most anyone can agree that she is great in the film, but one of her character’s major draws is that demonic voice that she speaks with after becoming possessed. That iconic voice was provided by Mercedes McCambridge.
So have you ever wondered what it would have sounded like if they hadn’t used a voice over for Linda’s possession and instead used her real voice? How much of a difference would it have made?
