AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW returns next month with an all new exciting and edge of your seat season. The show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.
If you are a fan of the second season ASYLUM, you will be pleased to know that Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Pepper, played by Naomi Grossman, will be part of the FREAK SHOW this season which takes place 12 years before ASYLUM.
Ryan Murphy spoke with EW about the upcoming season saying:
“What Elsa (Jessica Lange) has done for 20 years is she goes around to hospitals and jails and rescues these ‘freak’ circus performers who are going to be shipped away to asylums and she signs the waivers and she becomes their guardians.”
On Pepper being part of this season:
"It's sort of like what happened to Pepper before she went to the asylum.”
On the decision to bring Pepper into the fold:
“We thought about it long and hard and we decided that it was interesting to do.”
