Back in April we brought you the news that Crystal Lake Entertainment and Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films had secured a deal to be producing a new hour long dramatic series which will be based on characters and settings from the world of FRIDAY THE 13TH.
In an update from our
Previous Coverage, our exclusive source now reports that production for FRIDAY THE 13TH the television series is set to begin sometime next year. Thirteen episodes are planned to begin with. The show's first season is said to be loosely based on JAWS in some way and will offer references from the films.
The source adds that Jason Voorhees will be returning to Camp Crystal Lake once again for a killing spree, and at some point will feature a group of vigilante/bounty hunter types which have been hired to dispatch him.
As far as where we might be seeing this new FRIDAY THE 13TH the television series, our source reports that there is talk of possibly using the Netflix platform. FX has expressed interest as well.
