Since 2009, we have heard the rumors of another HALLOWEEN film. Many attempts to resurrect Michael Myers one more time have fallen short. Then there was no mention of a new installment for quite some time and it began to look as if another trip to Haddonfield wasn't ever going to happen. Then months ago it was confirmed that another Halloween film is indeed in the works.
Recently there was a HALLOWEEN screening event that took place at the Universal City Walk in Orlando. STYD was in attendance as the press conference took place and those speaking were Halloween Horror Nights
creative director Mike Aiello and HALLOWEEN series producer Malek Akkad. The topic was addressing the new maze there which is HALLOWEEN themed.
As the discussion carried on, it led to the topic of HALLOWEEN 3 and Malek Akkad offered an update saying:
“It’s been a joy to work with so many creative people – ten films." said Akkad "We’re working on eleven as we speak. We’re working on a script right now. A new draft – perfect timing – is supposed to hit the day before Halloween. Hopefully my Halloween night reading will be a good read.”
No writers were mentioned and Akkad remained very tight lipped on the subject. It isn't much, but at least we know that HALLOWEEN 3 is still relevant, which is a good thing. It continues to be a mystery at this point as to what direction the film will be taking.
