The truth is out there. At the Television Critics Association, Fox let the cat out of the bag that they have been discussing the possibility of bringing the highly popular science fiction television series THE X-FILES, which starred David Duchovny as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson who portrayed Special Agent Dana Scully. The series originally aired from 1993–2002. Fox is looking to bring back Duchovny and Anderson, as well as the series creator Chris Carter if all goes well.
Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden stated that while looking into the options of a new version of THE X-FILES they are seeking out times which would best work out for Duchovny and Anderson as their combined schedules are a factor. Series creator Chris Carter revealed that he is looking at this summer as a possible time for the follow up series to begin moving ahead if all goes well.
Please keep in mind that Fox Has Not yet greenlit the new would be X-FILES series. David Duchovny nor Gillian Anderson have officially been signed on. It does however appear that the possibility of the show being revived is becoming more likely.
