TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE TV Series Casts Lead Role - Plot Details Finally Revealed - Anthology or No?

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

The announcement of the TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE reimagining came well over one year ago. Back then we learned that The CW's vision of remaking the show would have Stephen King's son Joe Hill, along with Alex Kutzman and Roberto Orci in charge of bringing the idea to life. Fast forward to the present and things are really looking up for the project.

According to Deadline, the TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE TV series has cast it's lead for the pilot episode in actor Kris Lemche (FINAL DESTINATION 3, GINGER SNAPS). It looks as though Lemche be the only regular cast member on the show, as he will appear on every episode of the upcoming anthology series.

Joining that news is the first description of the rebooted television show.

"The anthology series will feature only one regular character, Newman (Lemche). A weathered and tortured young man, Newman is the guide to the unsuspecting who come across The Darkside. Newman – a man with his own desperate, wrenching secrets – knows exactly what’s causing the terrifying Darkside Events that drive the series. What he doesn’t know is how to stop them."

It is nice to know that the series will be sticking with the anthology direction. The addition of one regular character will be interesting.

We learned last month that the pilot episode for TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE is set to be one hour long. It was ordered by The CW for the 2015-2016 schedule. This pilot is written by Joe Hill, who is also executive producing along with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jerry Golod, Mitch Galin, and Heather Kadin.

The original TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE series aired from 1984-88 with George Romero being the driving force behind that version.

We will continue to bring you more on the TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE television series as it unfolds.
