Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
The director of TEXAS CHAINSAW and the FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot Marcus Nispel has been busy trying to get his next Horror film EXETER to see release. The movie is formerly known as BACKMASK and looks to put a fun spin on the idea of possession. Nispel should be smiling right about now as Viva Pictures and DIRECTV have announced that they have now acquired the U.S. rights to the film. So this one will be blooming very soon. Head on down below to check out the trailer.
EXETER stars Gage Golightly, Brittany Curran, Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Brett Dier, Nick Nicotera, Nick Nordella, and Michael Ormsby. The film is written by Kirsten McCallion and is executive produced by Jason Blum and Steven Schneider.
"During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message… and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home."
EXETER will debut exclusively on DIRECTV July 2nd. Then a theatrical release courtesy of Viva Pictures will take place later on this year.
