Update On F. Javier Gutierrez's RINGS Film Within!

Quite a while back, we learned that a new THE RING film was indeed in the works and that director F. Javier Gutierrez was attached to helm the project which is officially titled RINGS.

Just over one week ago we learned that Paramount produced RINGS will be a prequel, taking place before the 2002 remake that starred Naomi Watts. The story is said to touch on the origin of Samara’s reign of terror.

RINGS will star Italian actress Matilda Lutz and now we have learned that actor Alex Roe has been cast in the male lead. Roe's character Holt is the boyfriend to Lutz's character and becomes distant from her after watching the tape.



Akiva Goldsman, David Loucka and Jacon Aaron Estes penned the script which is based on the 1991 novel by Koji Suzuki. Laurie MacDonald and Walter Parkes will produce.

RINGS is expected in theaters November 13, 2015.
