MACHETE KILLS IN SPACE Really Happening? Info Within!

MACHETE KILLS may not have been a monster success at the box office, but the film's director Robert Rodriguez believed in it so much that he really likes the idea of doing a third movie for the series. A trailer for an idea MACHETE KILLS IN SPACE was shown in the theaters just before the feature presentation of MACHETE KILLS, giving fans the idea that this may one day actually happen.

Recently star Danny Trejo spoke with HDN and spoke about the space idea saying:

“Robert and I are going to start to do Machete Kills in Space, so that’s going to be awesome. Absolutely. We’re going to be working on it this year.”

So the project does indeed to be moving forward. Whether or not production will begin soon or not is unknown. Trejo's comment's could indicate that Rodriguez may be starting work on a script soon.

MACHETE KILLS AGAIN...IN SPACE followed the same path of the mock style trailer which gave birth to the 2010 original film, which was attached to 2007's double feature GRINDHOUSE.

The trailer shows Machete sporting a spacesuit and carrying a lightsaber type weapon. Played by Danny Trejo, he comes to liberate an enslaved world in a land beyond space and time. Joined by sidekicks Michelle Rodriguez, Alexa Vega and Lady Gaga.
