When it comes to remakes, it seems that everything under the sun is getting a new take things these days. There has been talk for a long time that Wes Craven's THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS could be in line for a reboot. Well it seems that the time has come but will be in the form of a television show.
That's right, according to Deadline, Wes Craven himself will produce a television adaptation of his 1991 Horror film THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS for SyFy. In addition Craven will also be producing an additional project in the form of a TV version of the Horror novel "We Are All Completely Fine" by Daryl Gregory. Craven has a deal with Universal Cable Productions and they will produce both series.
THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS TV version is described as a contemporary DOWNTON ABBEY meets THE AMITYVILLE HORROR. Writing the adaptation will be Michael Reisz as he also joins Craven as executive producer along with Tracey Murray and Bottfeld from Industry Entertainment, and Shep Gordon from Alive Productions.
