A while back, AMC officially greenlit a companion series for THE WALKING DEAD which has a lot of fans very curious as to what is going on there. Those of you who are ready for the new series will be interested in what we have for you today. Below you will find the first behind the scenes look at the spin-off series titled FEAR THE WALKING DEAD.
Production on FEAR OF THE WALKING DEAD has officially begun with filming taking place in Vancouver and Los Angeles as locations are needed.
Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert will be executive producing the new series along with AMC Studios producing. Dave Erickson, who also serves as an executive producer takes on the title of showrunner.
“‘FEAR OF THE WALKING DEAD takes us back to the earlier, more dangerous, more terrifying days of ‘THE WALKING DEAD,’” said Kirkman. “A time when danger was lurking around every corner and the thing mostly likely to get you killed was your own ignorance of the rapidly changing world around you. The stakes are going to be higher and the ride more intense. We're going to show people all the insanity of civilization crumbling that Rick Grimes slept through. Buckle up."
The setting for the new series will be in Los Angeles and follows new characters as well as storylines. Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Mercedes Mason are all set to star.
AMC has ordered two seasons of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. The first season will consist of six one-hour episodes.
The plan is to air the first season later this summer and then air the second season in 2016.
