Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
The 1996 film THE CRAFT starred Robin Tunney as a new arrival at Catholic school St Benedict’s Academy who befriends a group of girls (Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk and Rachel True) who all turn out to be witches. Rumors of a remake have been popping up here and there and today we have some actual news on the subject.
THE CRAFT remake is in fact moving forward and has now officially been given a director. Sony has picked Leigh Janiak (HONEYMOON) to write as well as direct the project. Co-writing the script along with Janiak will be Phil Graziadei. Doug Wick returns as a producer along with Lucy Fisher.
Janiak's new version of THE CRAFT is said to focus on female empowerment.
Hollywood took some recent heat from the American Civil Liberties Union for “systemic failure to hire women directors at all levels of the film and television industry”.
We will continue to bring you more on THE CRAFT remake as it unfolds.
