Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
The new adaptation of the apocalyptic tale that is THE STAND has been brewing for quite a while now. Last year we learned that the project had gained a new director in Josh Boone. Since then he has been trying to figure out a way to get this Stephen King tale to come to life.
Today we have learned some good news about the project as THR reports that Warner Bros., CBS Films and Boone are now in talks with Showtime to work out a deal which could would see an eight-part miniseries, all leading up to a big budget feature film.
Boone came on board as director near the beginning of last year, and he is determined to get the ball rolling as he is also handling the writing duties along with direction. The hope is to begin shooting by next year.
The original idea for this version of THE STAND was to cram all of the information into one film which would have been nearly impossible to do everything justice. This miniseries idea looks to be the way to go with something as complicated as the Stephen King novel.
King himself is eventually expected to be involved with project in some way along with Roy Lee and Jimmy Miller who will act as producers. THR says that high level meetings are set to take place next week to hopefully seal the deal with Showtime.
We will continue to bring you more on this new adaptation of THE STAND as it unfolds.
