Today is a sad day within the Horror community. As we have learned that Horror Legend Christopher Lee has passed away. Lee died Sunday morning in London after being after being admitted to the hospital for respiratory problems and heart failure. He was 93 years old.
Lee appeared in well over 200 movies and made a name for himself playing Dracula in the Hammer films. With tons on contributions to the Horror world, he also played the part of villain Francisco Scaramanga in classic Bond film THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN as well as Lord Summerisle in 1973's THE WICKER MAN.
Before becoming an actor Lee was a member of the Special Operations Executive during the Second World War, an intelligence service at times attached to the SAS, though he was reluctant to discuss his role.
Lee was knighted in 2009 for services to acting, but also branched out into music in his later life, most notably with the symphonic metal album Charlemagne.
Lee is also known for his recurring role as Saruman in THE LORD OF THE RINGS and HOBBIT films as well as playing Count Dooku in the STAR WARS franchise.
