Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
It has been an exciting time in Horror, especially with the recent news that a fresh HALLOWEEN installment is officially in the works. The film is simply titled HALLOWEEN RETURNS and will be directed by none other than Marcus Dunstan. He along with Patrick Melton make up the writing duo in charge of the script. We also know that Dimension Films announced that filming will begin in July.
Although the official announcement said that the story is being kept a secret, Moviehole reported the following:
"HALLOWEEN RETURNS will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop who has long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on Death Row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line."
The big question that is on many fans minds is which Michael Myers will we be getting? Will it be the original, or will it be the remake version? Today we have that answer.
According to STYD, HALLOWEEN RETURNS will be picking up at some point after HALLOWEEN II 1981 to provide a follow up story line thus ignoring the other sequels. The site also reports that the character of Gary Hunt, the Haddonfield Illinois police officer played by Hunter von Leer in HALLOWEEN II, will be a major part of HALLOWEEN RETURNS as he is now the sheriff and the one obsessed with Myers.
If this all pans out it will be very interesting to see what Dimension has in store for everyone.
We will continue to bring you more news on HALLOWEEN RETURNS as it unfolds.
