Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
It has been an exciting time in Horror as just a couple of weeks ago we learned the big news that a recalibrated HALLOWEEN installment is officially in the works. The film is simply titled HALLOWEEN RETURNS and will be directed by none other than Marcus Dunstan. He along with Patrick Melton make up the writing duo in charge of the script. We all were also told by Dimension Films that filming would begin during the month of July.
Now it appears that shooting could be halted for just a little bit longer. B-D reports that plans may have changed since the initial announcement, stating that the July start date was not locked in and that production could be pushed back until the Fall and take place at a yet to be determined location. The reason for this is likely to try and capture the true look and feel of the Halloween season.
Although the official announcement said that the story is being kept a secret, Moviehole previously reported the following about the plot:
"HALLOWEEN RETURNS will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop who has long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on Death Row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line."
We also learned that HALLOWEEN RETURNS could be picking up at some point after HALLOWEEN II 1981 to provide a follow up story line thus ignoring the other sequels. Also rumored, is the possible return of the character Gary Hunt, the Haddonfield Illinois police officer played by Hunter von Leer in HALLOWEEN II. He is said to have a major part in HALLOWEEN RETURNS as the current sheriff and the one obsessed with Myers. It will be very interesting to see what Dimension has in store for everyone.
We will continue to bring you more news on HALLOWEEN RETURNS as it unfolds.
