Sam Raimi's upcoming Starz television project ASH VS EVIL DEAD has been building for quite some time now and it will be a follow up to Raimi's EVIL DEAD films which will feature an older Ash accompanied by two other characters. Bruce Campbell will be reprising the iconic role.
Just recently we got our first look at Campbell as Ash from the new series and now we bring you our first peek inside of the Necronomicon.
Campbell had this to say about the Ash character:
"This is a guy who thought he could just quietly live a life of quiet desperation and—no. He brings it back upon himself and the world, and he of all people must save the world from his own doing. That’s classic Evil Dead. Ash is basically responsible for everything.”
With Campbell in the role of Ash Williams, the rest of the cast is made up of Lucy Lawless as Ruby a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Jill Marie Jones as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner, Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past, and Mimi Rogers as Suzy Maxwell, Kelly's mother.
Campbell has previously made it known that the current plan for ASH VS EVIL DEAD is to try and have five seasons.
Aaron Lam will be producing and Craig DiGregorio will be the showrunner as well as executive producer along with Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell. Co- executive producing will be Ivan Raimi.
Sam Raimi, who will be directing the first episode, is handling the writing duties along with Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy. The show will be made up of 10 half hour episodes.
ASH VS EVIL DEAD is set to premiere this Fall on STARZ.
