The 1976 Richard Donner film THE OMEN captivated audiences with the clever ways in which it showed the wickedness working through the Anti-Christ in the form of the child Damien. To this day it stands tall within the current generation and is held in very high regard. Then back in 2006 a remake of the classic hit the scene in John Moore's THE OMEN which saw a some success financially and earned mixed reactions from fans across the world.
Back in April we learned that the upcoming OMEN TV series which is titled DAMIEN, would be moving from Lifetime over to A&E. This move should be a better fit for the show as A&E already has aired shows such as THE RETURNED and BATES MOTEL. We also learned that the first season of the series will be ten episodes in length.
A&E has released a new trailer for DAMIEN which you will find below.
The series stars Bradley James as Damien Thorn, along with Barbara Hershey, Omid Abtahi, Meganlyn Echikunwoke, and Scott Wilson.
The new series begins twenty-five years after the events of THE OMEN. DAMIEN is about:
"..the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 film who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages."
Glen Mazzara, former showrunner for THE WALKING DEAD, will be the driving force behind the series along with Ross Fineman. Production has begun on the project but no release date has been revealed as of yet.
