Just a few weeks ago SCREAM THE TV SERIES made it's long awaited debut on MTV. Invoking elements from the films, the series tells a new story along with a new town and new characters. It will be interesting to see where the rest of the episodes go as the mystery factor still plays a huge part.
We have learned that SCREAM THE TV SERIES has officially been picked up for a second season. More than 21 million viewers were watching when the debut season hit television sets with another 7.9 million views by way of streaming across platforms.
“We couldn’t be happier SCREAM has been renewed for a second season and that we have a wonderful working relationship with Doug Herzog, Stephen Friedman, Susanne Daniels, Mina Lefevre and her team,” said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films. "The SCREAM franchise has been such a huge part of our history and to watch it evolve, find a new generation of fans and succeed at MTV makes this all the more sweet. We promise even more scares, surprises, romance and of course kills in season two."
The cast is made up of Bex Taylor-Klaus, Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Connor Weil, Joel Gretsch, Carlson Young, Amelia Rose Blaire, Bella Thorne, Bobby Campo and Amadeus Serafini. Jamie Travis is the director of the pilot.
Synopsis for the series:
"After a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, the shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens – with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart – become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who’s out for blood."
