Huge News: A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET To Be Rebooted Once Again!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Back in 2010 Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema teamed together to bring us the Platinum Dunes produced reboot of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. The film was directed by Samuel Bayer and starred Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger. Needless to say, the majority of fans were not impressed with the final product.

Fast forward to the present time and Tracking Board reports that New Line Cinema is planning on taking A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and giving it yet another reboot saying that:

"the studio is now going back to the drawing board, working to create a remake worthy of the original."

As most everyone knows, New Line was put on the map all thanks to Freddy so it only makes sense that they would want to give it another shot at offering fans an Elm Street film that will get it right. Plus there is the fact that new versions of popular Horror icons from the past are being ressurected in new films as FRIDAY THE 13TH, HALLOWEEN and LEATHERFACE are all in the works.

The script writing duties will be going to ORPHAN scribe David Leslie Johnson. Overseeing for New Line will be Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, and Dave Neustadter.

As of now a director has not been named nor is there any word as to who could be taking on the iconic role of Freddy Krueger. It is also unclear if Platinum Dunes will be involved in the project.

We will continue to bring you more on the upcoming A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET reboot as it unfolds.
