Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
Back in June we learned the exciting news that a re-calibrated HALLOWEEN installment is officially in the works. The film will simply be titled HALLOWEEN RETURNS and will be directed by none other than Marcus Dunstan. He along with Patrick Melton make up the writing duo in charge of the script.
Producer Malek Akkad spoke with Daily Dead revealing that HALLOWEEN RETURNS is being delayed.
Akkad fully supports Dunstan and Melton's ideas for the re-calibration of the franchise but indicates that the studio is not in agreement with them and that some re-figuring is happening.
"...this new Halloween isn’t going to be quite what has been announced and what people are expecting, so we’re making some changes there as well."
However Akkad says not to let it worry us too much because "It's only going to be resulting in a better film."
The previous description given for HALLOWEEN RETURNS was:
"A new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop who has long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on Death Row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line."
There was previously also talk that the film would be taking on the continuity of the original HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN II. Only time will tell if this is still the case or not.
As of this point there is no date of release set.
We will continue to bring you more news on HALLOWEEN RETURNS as it unfolds.
