Not long ago the debut season of SCREAM THE SERIES was unleashed by MTV. Invoking elements from the films, the series tells a new story along with a new town and new characters. With many fans divided on the new polish, the series provided a fun ride and tons of mystery and murder.
In July we learned that SCREAM THE SERIES was picked up for a second season. More than 21 million viewers were watching when the debut season hit television sets with another 7.9 million views by way of streaming across platforms.
We have just learned that the second season could very possibly have a different look and feel. An announcement was made that original showrunners Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia have been replaced with Michael Gans and Richard Register. Blotevogal will remain on the show as a consultant.
It has been revealed that all of the main parties involved were made aware of the showrunner changes back when MTV renewed the series in July. There are no reasons given as to why the changes were made but clearly MTV liked the ratings that they were receiving.
SCREAM THE SERIES Season 2 is expected to return next summer.
