Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Many films have been inspired by the DeFeo family killings in Amityville New York back in 1974 as well as the hauntings which the Lutz family experienced. As it stands, there are eight entries in the official AMITYVILLE movie franchise.

With THE CONJURING 2 having wrapped, the excitement continues to build as fans await the much anticipated sequel. It appears that some part of the Amityville story will be involved in the upcoming film. According to the IMDb page for THE CONJURING 2: THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST, four very recognizable character names have now been listed. They are Ronald Sr., Louise, Allison, and Dawn.

Ronald Sr. (father), Louise (mother), Allison (daughter) and Dawn (daughter) are the names of the members of the DeFeo family who were murdered by Ronald Jr. on that fateful night back in 1974. Actress Alexa Najera has now made it known that she will be playing the role of Allison DeFeo in the upcoming film, so expect some kind of tie in to the Amityville story to be involved at some point along the way.

THE CONJURING 2 will tell the story of The Enfield Poltergeist which refers to a paranormal case that took place in London England. Set to be around Christmas time in the 1970's.

Joining Najera is a cast that is made up of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, along with Frances O'Connor, Abhi Sinha, Patrick McAuley and Benjamin Haigh joining Lauren Esposito as her children, and Maria Doyle Kennedy; Simon Delaney; Franka Potente; and Simon McBurney.

The script for THE CONJURING 2 was first written by Carey and Chad Hayes with Eric Heisserer coming to make changes as needed. Writer David Leslie Johnson (ORPHAN and WRATH OF THE TITANS) had the task of rewriting the screenplay. Johnson is also known for his work on AMC's THE WALKING DEAD.

The official release date for THE CONJURING 2 will be June 10, 2016.
