The upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME from Gun Media and IllFonic in partnership with Crystal Lake Entertainment is still very much moving forward with great progress. The fact that this game is actually being made has fans of the franchise on the edge of their seats with excitement.
Kane Hodder has been reprising the iconic role of Jason Voorhees over at Digital Domain. We have some on set, behind the scenes images for you of Hodder once again portraying the Jason character wearing a motion capture suit. Plus more below.
Also on board with the project are FRIDAY THE 13TH Alumni Tom Savini, Harry Manfredini, and Sean S. Cunningham.
FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME is an online, asymmetric multiplayer experience where one player will assume the role of Jason Voorhees against seven other players assuming the roles of camp counselors trying to survive the night.
The makers of the game have released a new gameplay overview video (see below). It offers us an idea of how the gameplay will play out and helps to explain one of the ways that counselors can survive their night in Camp Crystal Lake within the game. Calling the Police requires fixing the outside call box in the cabin and then successfully completing a call before Jason gets you. At that point you have 10 minutes till the round ends, but you still have to make your way to them at a random entry point.
FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME is expected to be released in the fall of 2016, and will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
