Update On UNDERWORLD Coming To Television Within!

UNDERWORLD is a series of action Horror films that began in 2003 and has sequels that include UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION (2006), UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS (2009), and UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING (2012).

It won't be much longer until the next film arrives as UNDERWORLD: NEXT GENERATION has already been completed. But what about the possible TV show idea that was once being kicked around?

Around two years ago, the rumors were swirling around about an UNDERWORLD television show that was supposedly in the early stages of development. Since then the talk of that had stopped, until now.

Speaking with Collider, the brains behind the UNDERWORLD series Len Wiseman spoke about the status of a possible television product based on UNDERWORLD saying:

"Yes, there’s been a lot of conversations and even development on what that series would be. It’s really appropriate for television, in terms of how those characters can really tie in, but also become something new. It’s really an attractive space. I don’t want to put a date on it because then that’s going to be printed and it might not happen in that timeframe, but it is a thought."

There are no further details to report at this time on the possible TV series, but it leaves us wondering if UNDERWORLD will make the switch over to the small screen?, and if so would the series translate well in a different medium?

UNDERWORLD: NEXT GENERATION currently has a release date of October 21, 2016.
