Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
Just last week we learned that the director of the James Wan produced LIGHTS OUT, David F. Sandberg is in talks to take the director's chair for the ANNABELLE sequel. Today we bring you a bit of an update on things.
New Line Cinema has made the announcement that ANNABELLE 2 will be arriving in theaters on May 19, 2017.
Should Sandberg get the directing gig, this would give him plenty of time to bring about a worthy sequel. Fourteen months to be exact which was how much time passed between ANNABELLE and the previous film THE CONJURING.
If Sandberg does end up helming the film, he would be taking the place of John Leonetti, who directed the first ANNABELLE film. He would also be working from a screenplay that was written by Gary Dauberman.
The original ANNABELLE film told the story of:
"John Form thinks he’s found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia — a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long.
On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now... Annabelle."
Remember that ANNABELLE 2 will be in theaters on May 19, 2017. In the meantime we have James Wan's THE CONJURING 2 arriving in theaters on June 10, 2016 with Sandberg's LIGHTS OUT following on July 22nd.
We will continue to keep you updated on ANNABELLE 2 as we hear it.
