Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
2012 saw the release of PROMETHEUS which became a huge hit at the box office and of course it makes perfect sense to have a sequel. Director Ridley Scott has been working on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT which will be the PROMETHEUS sequel and serve as a prequel to the ALIEN films.
With all of the recent talk of Neill Blomkamp's ALIEN 5 project, and in the fun of Alien Day we bring you the first official image from Scott's upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT film. The picture gives us a look at the patch worn by the crew of the Weyland-Yutani Corp. colony ship Covenant.
"Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS -- and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
Michael Fassbender will reprise his role as David. He will be joined by Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup. At this point it is still unclear if Noomi Rapace will be returning to reprise her role from PROMETHEUS.
ALIEN: COVENANT is currently scheduled to be released on August 4th, 2017.
We will continue to keep you updated on all things ALIEN.
