The upcoming new GHOSTBUSTERS film has a lot of fans divided when it comes to being excited about new stream crossing heroes. One thing that fans will enjoy is that the original 1984 GHOSTBUSTERS movie is heading back to theaters. Fathom Events will be hosting the screening on June 8th, which is also the film's 34th anniversary. It will be shown in over 750 theaters. An encore presentation will be playing on June 12th.
In honor of the 34th Anniversary celebration, June 8th will also see BBQ Films in Brooklyn hosting a three night event where "they’ll be turning a giant warehouse into the GHOSTBUSTERS headquarters. Fans will be able to wear proton packs, slurp on an ecto-beverage, watch the original film and maybe fight off a ghost or two."
"After the members of a team of scientists lose their cushy positions at a university in New York City, they decide to become "ghostbusters" to wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural for money. They stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, a doorway that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York from complete destruction."

The new GHOSTBUSTERS, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones. It heads to theaters on July 16th.
