Huge News: A PUPPET MASTER Reboot Is Coming - Teaser Poster Within!

The PUPPET MASTER Horror film series focuses on a group of anthropomorphic puppets animated by an Egyptian spell, each equipped with its own unique and dangerous device and are represented as heroes, anti-heroes, and antagonists. The series was established in 1989 with the first installment, which has since been followed by nine sequels, including an unofficial crossover with the characters of DEMONIC TOYS.

This past weekend at the Texas Frightmare convention brought the big announcement that PUPPET MASTER will indeed be receiving a reboot.

S. Craig Zahler, director of the Horror Western film BONE TOMAHAWK, has been selected to write the script for reboot which will be titled PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH. The search for a director is quietly underway with the project set to be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian of di Bonanventura Pictures and Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller of Caliber Media. Charles Band, who is the founder of Full Moon will be executive producing the reboot. The plan is to create a new PUPPET MASTER franchise.

The reboot is said to be a fresh take on the concept which will still provide "brutally inventive puppet kills" and "comedic tendencies" that the Full Moon franchise has previously brought to us.

Script description:

"a recently divorced young man who discovers a mint condition Blade doll in his deceased brother’s closet and plans to sell the toy at a convention in Oregon celebrating the 30th anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. All hell breaks loose at the Postville Lodge during the auction when a strange force animates all of the various puppets throughout the convention as they go on a bloody killing spree."

It is not known at this time how PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH will affect Full Moon's plans for their regular sequel titled PUPPET MASTER: AXIS TERMINATION that was supposed to be going into production soon.
