2012 saw the release of PROMETHEUS which became a huge hit at the box office and of course it makes perfect sense to have a sequel. Director Ridley Scott has been working on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT which will be the PROMETHEUS sequel and serve as a prequel to the ALIEN films.
Filming recently began for ALIEN: COVENANT, which will be the second installment in a trilogy of films.
We have learned that Noomi Rapace is in fact on the set of ALIEN: COVENANT in Australia. She is expected to "shoot weeks worth of scenes."
Rapace portrayed Elizabeth Shaw from the previous film, PROMETHEUS.
"Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS -- and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
The rest of the cast is made up of Michael Fassbender, who plays David. The rest of the cast is made up by Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup.
ALIEN: COVENANT is currently scheduled to be released on August 4th, 2017.
