2012 saw the release of PROMETHEUS which became a huge hit at the box office and of course it makes perfect sense to have a sequel. Director Ridley Scott has been working on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT which will be the PROMETHEUS sequel and serve as a prequel to the ALIEN films.
We can now report that filming has officially wrapped for ALIEN: COVENANT. In celebration, Ridley Scott has shared a new image which features his new star Katherine Waterston.
"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
Joining Katherine Waterston will be Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Benjamin Rigby, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup.
The film was written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen, and John Logan.
ALIEN: COVENANT is currently scheduled to be released on August 4th, 2017.
