Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
The fouth season of BATES MOTEL took viewers on quite a ride. We saw Norman's mental state break down even further as his relationship with his mother Norma certainly had it's struggles to say the least. The Season 4 finale brought us into some familiar territory in a new way.
We learned not long ago that an beloved character from the original PSYCHO movie will be appearing in the new season of A&E's BATES MOTEL. Marion Crane.
The Marion Crane character was originally portrayed by Janet Leigh, and was arguably the most recognizable Horror movie victim of all time as she was killed in the shower at the Bates Motel.
We have now learned that Marion Crane will be played by pop star Rihanna.
Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, who are executive producers on the show had this to say about Rihanna taking on the role of Marion Crane:
"We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way. We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate."
Rihanna joins Freddie Highmore as Norman Bates, Vera Farmiga as his mother Norma, Max Thieriot as his brother Dylan, and Nestor Carbonell as Sheriff Alex Romero.
"This contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film Psycho gives viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. “Bates Motel” gives fans access to the dark, twisted backstory of Norman Bates and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is."
BATES MOTEL will begin airing it's 5th and final season in early 2017 on A&E.
