As you may or may not already know, George A. Romero's 1968 classic film NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is in the public domain, meaning that anyone can do whatever they wish with future films related to that name. Many independent filmmakers have taken to this concept, giving their efforts a LIVING DEAD experience.
Next in line is director Matt Cloude's upcoming film NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: GENESIS. This project has really became a labor of love for Cloude as he has been grinding away on this one since 2011. One great aspect about this particular movie is the fact that it contains some Romero veterans, including original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD star Judith O'Dea, reprising the role of Barbra, even though she appeared to have died in the original film. Head on down below to have a look at the teaser trailer.
Starring Judith O'Dea, Sarah Snyder, Mike Lord, David Witt, Brenleigh Rigsbee, Cyrus Samson, Christy Johnson, David Crawford, Alexander Elliott, Jim Krut, Mike Christopher, Heidi Hinzman, and John Migliore. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: GENESIS was co-written by Cloude and Wil Smith.
Synopsis:
"NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: GENESIS pays homage to the timeless classic while expanding upon its storyline to explore more of the night when the dead began to rise by chronicling the events through the eyes of lead heroine Barbra. Every legend has a beginning."
As of now there is no word on when NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: GENESIS may be arriving. We will continue to keep you in the loop.
