2012 saw the release of PROMETHEUS which became a huge hit at the box office and of course it makes perfect sense to have a sequel. Director Ridley Scott has been working on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT which will be the PROMETHEUS sequel and serve as a prequel to the ALIEN films.
With filming now officially having wrapped months ago, we are less than a year until the release of ALIEN: COVENANT.
AvPGalaxy reported that the creatures in the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT film will indeed be called Neomorphs. The difference in them versus the Xenomorphs? They infiltrate people's bodies in a different way, through spores released by pods rather than Facehuggers from eggs, once incubated they burst out of people in different areas of the body, not just the chest; and they look and move differently.
It appears that the look of these new creatures may have been spoiled as a source from the gang at So, Is It Any Good has managed to get some images taken from the set. You can view those down below.
Among these new beings, we also see a Facehugger along with some eggs and other fun stuff.
"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
ALIEN: COVENANT stars Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Benjamin Rigby, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup.
The film was written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen, and John Logan.
ALIEN: COVENANT is currently scheduled to be released on August 4th, 2017.
