The 2014 monster film GODZILLA was highly successful grossing $529 million worldwide. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the effort marked the 30th film within the overall franchise.
Not too long ago it was announced that the release of GODZILLA 2, now officially titled GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, had it's released dated pushed back quite a bit. We know that Mike Dougherty will be directing and that he and Zach Shields are writing the script for GODZILLA 2. The duo previously teamed together for KRAMPUS, and Dougherty also wrote and directed TRICK 'R TREAT.
We have now learned that Millie Bobby Brown has joined the cast of GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS. Brown is best known from STRANGER THINGS as Eleven.
KONG: SKULL ISLAND will be coming to theaters on March 10, 2017, eventually building up to GODZILLA VS. KONG on May 29, 2020. If things run smoothly, the plan is to have other famous Kaiju incorporated into the franchise.
GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS has a current release date of March 22, 2019. We will continue to bring you more on the film as we hear it.
