Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
Back in 2008, the home invasion Horror film THE STRANGERS hit the scene and caused quite the impact among the Horror community. With great success, a sequel was quickly being prepared to launch back in 2009 with Laurent Briet directing a screenplay written by Bryan Bertino. As you all know that idea never came into fruition.
Then back in 2015 there was talk of Marcel Langenegger in line to direct THE STRANGERS 2. With that never taking place, some changes have been made as today we bring you a major update.
We have now learned that the THE STRANGERS 2 is officially moving forward. Casting is now underway with cameras set to begin rolling this summer.
Johannes Roberts will now be directing THE STRANGERS movie with Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai writing the script. Producing the film are Mark Lane & James Harris along with Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones, in association with Relativity Media. Handling the international sales at the European Film Market in Berlin will be BLOOM.
"Working with The Fyzz and Bloom to bring the brilliant set-up from the first movie to a new generation and deliver a powerful sequel is incredibly exciting.”
Alex Walton from BLOOM had this to say:
“I am truly scared every time I think of the original The Strangers movie, it is my favorite horror film of the past 10 years. The screenplay will immediately satisfy any fan of the original and I’m confident of a growing audience for this genre around the world.“
"The screenplay will immediately satisfy any fan of the original..." that is all I needed to hear, Mr. International Sales Dude. Sign me up to be creeped out to the bone "one-more-gin."
"A family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and after the power goes out they decide to hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer. Under the cover of darkness three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit."
We will continue to bring you more on THE STRANGERS 2 as we hear it.
