The new adaptation of Stephen King's IT has been taking shape for long time now. The project is set to be presented in two separate films which is being produced by Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. MAMA director Andy Muschietti was hired on to helm this new adaptation.
The new Pennywise has certainly gotten people talking. Not long ago the official trailer arrived (see below) and has gotten fans excited. As this excitement continues on, we bring you some new stills from the film which depict The Losers Club as well as a new Pennywise image which is featured above, all courtesy of EW.
Head on down below to view those along with the previously released trailer.
Original Synopsis for IT:
"It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real… They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them back to Derry to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name."
With a solid R-rating on the way, the current cast for the new IT adaptation is made up of Nicholas Hamilton, Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Owen Teague, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Javier Botet and Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Clown.
With the new IT project being planned as two separate films, we can expect to see the point of view from the kids in one film and the other film being that of the adults.
The book was previously adapted by Tommy Lee Wallace as a 1990 two part, three hour event miniseries on ABC, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise.
September 8th, 2017 is the current release date for Part 1 of the new adaptation of Stephen King's IT.
