Fans of the CLOVERFIELD franchise have been patiently waiting for the follow-up to 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, which was released back in early 2016. The third film, currently using the working title of GOD PARTICLE, was originally supposed to arrive on February 24th 2017 before being pushed back to October 2017 and then again pushed back to February 2nd 2018. With less than one month to go until that particular date, we have learned that the film has once again been delayed.
GOD PARTICLE now has a new release date of April 20th 2018. The movie will be going head to head with The Rock’s RAMPAGE in theaters.
Much like 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, GOD PARTICLE was not written to be an actual CLOVERFIELD movie, but is an original sci-fi project that will be set within the CLOVERFIELD universe.
Julius Onah directs GOD PARTICLE from a screenplay written by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung. The film stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl, and Chris O’Dowd.
“Set in the near future and tells the story of a team of astronauts on a space station who make a terrifying discovery involving a new energy source—the “God Particle”—and their desperate fight for survival."
Remember GOD PARTICLE or whatever it will eventually be titled, will be hitting theaters on April 20th.
