New Michael Myers Talks The Upcoming HALLOWEEN Movie!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Master of Horror John Carpenter is executive producing and serving as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of Horror, Jason Blum. Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.

With filming now officially having wrapped on the upcoming HALLOWEEN movie, Halloween Daily News spoke with the other man that will wear the iconic mask besides the returning Nick Castle, James Jude Courtney.

James Jude Courtney on wearing the iconic Michael Myers mask:

“David [Gordon Green], Danny [McBride], Jeff [Fradley], Mike [Simmonds], Rawn [Hutchinson], and myself, we all walked off to a room to the side where nobody could see it, and Chris [Nelson] pulled out the mask, and he said, ‘Okay Jim, let’s put it on and see what it feels like. So I walk over and he puts it on me and fastens it in for me, and I was like, ‘Whoa.’ David goes, ‘What does it feel like, Jim?’ I said, (lowers voice to a near-whisper) ‘It’s perfect for killing.’ It was perfect.

And all the sudden, this thing happened to me inside. I had already created the energy, I already knew the space, but man that was like after burns, dude. And the love, it’s more than just the beauty of the art that Christopher [Allen Nelson] created when he did the mask, it’s all that knowledge he put into it, and somehow he imbued all the history, the 40 years of history and all the work that all the people have done, and all the fans’ expectations and love. I felt all of that. I will never forget the first time I put that mask on.”

The new HALLOWEEN will be produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the HALLOWEEN series since its inception. Green and McBride will executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.

Judy Greer will play Strode’s daughter Karen, with actress Andi Matichak in line to play the granddaughter of Laurie Strode named Allyson. As mentioned above, the man that played Michael Myers/The Shape in the original film, Nick Castle, will be reprising the role in the new HALLOWEEN sequel. Rob Niter and Will Patton will play officers of the law, and Rhian Rees is said to play a character in the movie named Dana.

Other cast members include Virginia Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's classmates.

The new HALLOWEEN film is set to hit theaters on October 19, 2018.
