It has been known for a while that AMERICAN HORROR STORY creator Ryan Murphy has big plans to unleash a crossover season that will see characters from both Murder House and Coven intertwine. As it turns out, that crossover season is still on the agenda, and will be happening THIS upcoming season. Either Murphy purposely swerved everyone or the stars just happened to align quicker than expected because this upcoming season, Season 8, will feature the much talked about crossover between Seasons 1 & 3, Murder House and Coven.
The official account of AMERICAN HORROR STORY on Twitter posted the date of September 12th as the premiere date along with the caption “Not long now”.
Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Emma Roberts, and Billie Lourd are all expected to come back for this season, with some of them possibly reprising their roles from previous installments. Also joining the cast in season 8 will be Joan Collins.
Murphy previously stated:
“You will see so many fan favorites return (this season) that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five."
No title for the eighth season has been announced as of yet. We will keep you up to date as we hear more.
The Crossover Season 8 of AMERICAN HORROR STORY is now filming and will air on FX Wednesday September 12th.
