Fans of 2014’s GODZILLA are eager for more as the official sequel to that film titled GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS will be coming in the future. Some new plot details have been revealed by EW as director Michael Dougherty talked about the mindset of the world after the events of the 2014 picture.
"The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting... there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.”
New creatures will soon be introduced including Rodan, whom Dougherty says:
“In a lot of ways he’s more powerful than Godzilla. He’s like this winged A-bomb. I think we’ve done him justice.”
GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr.,Aisha Hinds.
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS comes to theaters on May 31st, 2019.
