Trailer For MORBIUS Is Within!

With all of the success of Spider-Man's films, it only makes scense that more of the characters from that universe be developed into big screen adaptations. Following Sony's VENOM, the studio is wasting no time developing other characters in Spider-Man's cinematic universe, and they've now officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for MORBIUS.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa from a screenplay by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (based on the Marvel Comics character), Morbius stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. Executive produced by Louise Rosner and produced by Matt Tolmach, Avi Arad, and Lucas Foster.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Morbius the Living Vampire, aka Dr. Michael Morbius, is a scientist who accidentally transformed himself into a bloodthirsty creature of the night. Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, Morbius made his paneled page debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101. The Morbius film is also set in the same universe as Venom, which has a sequel slated for October 2nd, 2020.

Synopsis:

"One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease."



MORBIUS will arrive in theaters July 31st.
