"SCHIZOPHRENIAC: THE WHORE MANGLER" by Ron Atkins 1997
released by BRAIN DAMAGED FILMS 2008
This was Ron Atkins (Cut Throat Films) first horror film done back in 1997. Total lo fi.....crap sound; no lighting; filmed on an old vhs camcorder; ...you get the idea. Theres a lot to hate about this film but its almost so bad that it is good.
The story follows a man named Harry Russo (Giancaspro)-an aggravated writer, killer and drug addict, who is drriven by the demonic voices of his ventriloquist dummy named Rubberneck. Think Slappy from Goosebumps on acid lol. harry nks into extreme dimentia and the actor who plays him (Giancaspro) pulls a no holds barred insane performance....I mean the guy is phenominal so much where you actually buy his insanity. Harry and his dummy go on killing several women; their therapist; some stragglers along the way.....horrible f/x. Theres scenes of cannibalism and necrophilia.
Atkins tries to push the envelope but you can never really take it seriously. To my knowledge its probably the first real insane American horror film and by that I mean it predates the "porngore/torture" flicks of the past few years. Its just depraved and again the only reason to watch this film is for the lead role. You'll wonder if the guy is either an oscar winning performer; or he was fed tons of drugs to do the role OR he was paid a nice chunk of change.
This isn't a movie to GO GET NOW! or own....but if you find it or have $6 (amazon) to kill by all means get it. its definately a trip!

I've seen part 2 and it was funny stuff
I made some props and stuff for Ron for the 3rd film in the series hopefully I wont have to wait another two years to see how it came out

hey bro thats awesome! A friend of mine told me that Ron has been pretty active as of late so it might not be too long that we get some new stuff from him. I wasn't aware of the third film but i'll look out for it to check out your work!
