As collectors, we all have the urge to get new stuff.

As soon as our "Holy Grail" is received, we're usually on to another obseson.

List your new wants here!

Maybe the encouragement (or discouragement) of other collectors will affect your purchang decion.

Please list only items you are currently condering purchang, not what you think is cool, or what you would buy if you hit the lottery, that list could get WAY too long.My list is masks only nce that's what I enjoy the most, but by all means, list any collectibles you're itching to buy. -------------------------------------------------------------

Here are my current obsesons which may change from day to day:

Rubber Gorilla - Batman Comic Cowl Death Studios - Airport Zombie Death Studios - Feeding Frenzy Braineater DWN Productions - Psycho Killer

Maria bust from METROPOLIS, from Henry or Nick Alvarez. Anthony Perkins, Norman bates, and Hannibal Lector, also from those guys. Quite a few things actually that I wouldn't mind having from those two.
SithLord Friday 1/23/2009 at 03:27 AM | 32988
First off I'd like to just breifly say that this has nothing to do with horror, but I feel like I am surrounded by family and that it's ok to talk to you guys about something else.

I havn't exactly been feeling very well lately. I don't mean a flu or cold either. I geuss you could call it an illness that I got myself into. It doesnt take much to make me worry or get stressed out. For those of you who don't know, I am in dept up to my ass with a Credit Card. My car is broke. I owe the Hospital money and I just got laid off not to long ago... I spend money on things I can't even aford just to make myself happy. The 1 good thing that I have is Unemployment.

I've been so stressed out and so worried over it all that I've been falling into a deeper an deeper depreson over it and I feel like I am in so deep that I'll never get out.

I spend my whole like living in and wearing black. Not to the point of goth, but to the point of nothing but black shirts, black curtans, black bedding, and a small dark room. I wear it because I am atracted to the color and because I have it in my mind that I dont look good in any other color.

I think the color itself is just dragging me down with everything else.

I left tonight for the first time in months to actually vit a friend I've had for 17 years.

We talked for a very long time about all the stupid things we used to do and people we knew. We also talked about this problem of mine. After a few hours I started seeing things from a differant light.

So here's what I want and it wont take money to make me happy.

I want a brighter future for myself. I want to make a differance in my life. I want to be closer with my family insted of living in this dark hole 24-7. I want to be normal again and feel better about myself and everything/everyone around me.

It's going to be a battle, but I am going to get out of it.

So thats what I am itching to do!

Please don't let my post make this thread Sour... I want you guys to continue your fun with the masks and props you want! I just felt my other family "You Guys" wouldn't mind hearing my tuation rather than hiding it all the time. I felt I needed to be more forward and streight with "The Guys" - and Gals, that I share my Hobby with! --Ryan

Depending on how the economic tuation goes, and whether or not I have a job x months from now, I will definitely be picking these two up when they are finished.

I to have a BIG CC bill that needs paying, Ryan. Don't think your the only one out there, Bro. Just look at it like this, things can't really get any worse right now. First of all, stop buying stuff, including masks. They're not important right now. To you anyway. Second, maybe you need to take a break from all this for awhile, and go out and have some fun. This hobby can get stressfull at times, to say the least. All this stuff will still be here when you get back. Lastly, where are your parents in all this?? I'm sure they can help out a bit.

Hey Nipple Maniac! Don't worry about money, dude. Broken car? AH! I know exactly what you're talking. We all know your problem with your parent in hospital, and I know how expenve it could be, believe me. But hey, nothing is forever man. Nor the good things, nor the bad things. You make me very happy sending me those ts. Maybe it could be normal to you, but for me, receive ts from a guy of USA is too cool. My wife stay looking to that knife and says: Uhhh, he put his hands on it! He wrote this letter himself! You are a great guy, make us all laugh with your crazy posts. People like you, Justin, Bisco, Lee, you are precious, and when you are down, we all are. Get your head up, you piece of shit! We love you! And I don't want that bullshit once said for Bisco "bla bla bla and I'll sold all my stuff, hang me on a tree and be rapped by a black porno star..."

------------------

Well, my hit list for 2009 already start with the knife and comics Ryan sent me. Next step is buying a figure from Freddy (from LSD), a couple of Bisco DVDs, and maybe in march or april get a mask from Sam (I'm thinking about the Economike)

I have a bunch of stuff that I am awaiting...

Masks that I will purchase in the next year for sure: Warlock Devious

Statues and figures that I have coming: Hellboy PF from deshow Iron Man Mk III and I from Hot Toys Two Face from HT Conan PF from deshow Dead Priest from deshow Lots more....

Stuff I hope to finish this year: Deckard from Blade Runner (with my friend Blind Voyeur) Jason from the remake of F13th (again with my buddy Ryan) Freddy (my own for the collection, maybe head replacements for deshow figures)
DarkArtist81 Friday 1/23/2009 at 05:31 PM | 33038
Oh, I almost forgot: one thing that each of us on Horrorbid must order this year is a figure from Josh. They are killer and surely for 2009 one of these I must have.

LMAO...that was funny :)

Ryan hun listen I know I may be alittle more pasve then most people (gotta love weed..hehe) and it's eaer said then done but you gotta stop stresng so much cause it's not going to do anything but make you ck. I know what your talking about with the creditcards...have a few too many that need to be paid myself and although I may not have an actual car I have one they've been garnishing portions of my checks for nce over a year ago and will continue to do so until that's paid off too (NEVER VOLUNTARILY GIVE BACK A FINANCED CAR UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TOO..LOL) in either case safe to say I know what it's like to wanna hang yourself on a daily bas but in the end all the worrying and stresng does nothing....definately doesn't help thats for sure. Like everyone says you gotta stop the buying for awhile...the stuff will only make your feel better for alittle while before your kicking yourself in the ass for spending the money on that rather then the next payment to one of your bills. I do that alot cause I have a slight movie buying problem....they should make a support group for that...lol anyways...you gotta take a step back and evaluate all of the stuff that needs to be paid and just pay one at a time (the most important stuff first). I learned that the hard way making little payments to everything will get you nowhere...interest is a bitch. the creditcards especially may not like it but they're not going anywhere. Next you have to go out more....staying home all he time take it from me depresses you more. I know when a person is low on funds it generally makes them not want to go out cause everywhere you go you end up spending more money you don't have but take walks, vit friends, let your mind breathe and think about something other then the stressful things because that stuff will be there later. the point being not to forget about it but not to drown in it either. Well enough of my rambling I'm getting out of work now and gotta log off. keep your head up hun and PM me if you need to talk or anything. :)

It's not easy to turn your life around and really make something for yourself but it can be done. When I was 23 I was unemployed, had a grade 12 education, and was about $150,000 in debt (I had bought a house just before I lost my job to cutbacks). It's very easy to nk into depreson when things like that happen but tting around on your ass feeling sorry for yourself is the easy way out. It takes a lot of work and determination to pull yourself up, dust yourself off, and get your shit together. Your friends and family are there to help and support you but you're ultimately the one who has to do it.

The economy hasn't helped much over here either.

If you noticed, the 4 masks I'm currently condering purchang are all $80 or less.

I haven't stopped collecting, I've just stopped buying the expenve stuff. Don't debt get ya down.

Just watch what ya spend, and rest the temptations of buying stuff you don't really need. One suggestion that I haven't seen mentioned is if you have multiple credit cards, pay off the highest interest rate ones first, then cancel them.

Keep only the ones with the best rate or limit.

I did this a couple of years ago and am proud to say I now have only one credit card.

Agreed...I intend on doing that with my tax check this year. Safe to say I paid them all with last years check and kept them open on that old "just incase I need them" reason/excuse...of course a bad idea cause I ended up ung them again and was right back where i started...lol

Definitely!

There is no need to have more than one or two credit cards, that's just asking for trouble.

Also, think of credit cards only as a convenient replacement for the cash you already have access to.

If your bank account balance at the moment doesn't greatly exceed the cost of the item that you're charging then don't buy it, plain and mple.

If an emergency arises, exhaust every other option you have before putting a large charge on that card.

This is what I've always done, and I've never had a debt problem.

Also, apologies to Snoballz for further derailing this train wreck of a thread, it looks like the damage has already been done.

I did this a couple of years ago and am proud to say I now have only one credit card. dont get me started on credit cards, i was about 15,000 in the hole with 3 of them at one point in my life. after my divorce i got screwed on my taxes and had to take an advance out on one of them to pay the govt about 1500 bucks, well my hours at work went from 55 hrs a week to 40 next thing i know i was getting slammed with a late fee and over the limit fee every month and my interest rates on all of them skyrocketed and it turned into a vicious circle. i wouldnt give this out as advice BUT what i did was mply quit paying them and let them go into default then collections, the interest stopped and i was able to lower my payments then almost every year after that i would use my vacation pays and tax returns to pay a settlement which was usually half of what i owed. after about 4 years i was debt free other than my car. is my credit whacked? you betcha but i live more comfortably without having to pay 750 dollars a month in CC bills. now that ive been paying on my car regularly and my utilities my credit is creeping back up to decent again. im not recommending you do that but thats how i got out of it.

ryan you helped cheer me up when i was down now its my turn, whats it going to take to help you get your chin up?????

No problem.

I may be new to mask collecting, but I'm not new to collecting other stuff.

In just about every forum I've ever been on, there is at least one thread a year from someone who's selling their collection at a loss to pay off the credit cards they used to buy those things in the first place.

It's a problem that really needs to be addressed.

Not everyone's tuation is the same, some people buy to fill an emotional void, some people spend more than they can afford to impress other collectors, and some people just can't help their tuation with today's economy. With layoffs and unemployment rates going through the roof, wage freezes, and the prices of groceries an other needed items prices skyrocketing, most people need to curb their collecting and buying non-essential "things".

Sadly, most people don't figure this out until it's too late.

It is the same tuation here in Europe. I should say here in Slovenia. But you would probably say WTF? Were is Slovenia. It is a very small country between Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary. But anyway it is in Europe. What I wanted to say that you guys are not alone. The economy here in Europe is also bad right now. The Unemployment is very big and it is getting bigger. So we are all a little depressed. But we have to stay potive, I know it is hard, but we have to. After every rain comes the sun! GOT TO STAY POTIVE!

And yeah what I want in the future: Still looking for a very accurate Jason mask Part 3. I am a very picky person! And a Nemes mask would also be great. I have the killing machine mask from Night creeper studios, but not the NemesAnd I hope that one day deshow will produce a 12 inch Pinhead figure. I need that one too.

AND DON'T FORGET, STAY POTIVE!!!!!

You know 3 months ago Brooker 1 was on my list. It is a very beautiful mask, bust. But I did not buy it because Brooker 1 has no right ear and Jason in part 3 has one. Maybe it is a little deformed but has on. Probably the most accurate Jason part 3 mask is ITZ-U from BUT DEGN, but they are all sold out. You can see the pictures. Thanks Guys! I'm sorry I havn't been as active on the fourm for the past week... I was in one hell of a hole. In all honesty, I think I have an angzity "Ancious" Disorder... I am going to be making a doctors appt. for that too. I really apreciate everyone pitching in there thoughts and how much you guys care! It means alot... There for a while I was being stupid thinking I was all alone with this problem and nothing or anyone could understand or help me... Things have been clearing up lately and a good dose of time has helped out as well. I have been more active in my lifestyle and got my sleeping patern back on track. I can see a differance every day and I am feeling pretty good!

Next step after the Doctor's Appt. is to work on saving money and then once I get myself taken care of "Dept" wise, Look the hell out, cuz PJ's Horror Express is coming in FULL FORCE!!! You can start by looking for a Hard Plastic ren veron of my knife! I will be casting that first thing once I am back to normal!

Also, My first mask is going to be the Gargoyle from Tales From The Darkde The Movie...

Thats going to be a blast!

Thanks Again Guys!!! --Ryan
