Rob Zombie signed on for Halloween III????

I saw earlier today on Bloody Disguting.com that Rob has gned on for a remake/re-imaging of Halloween III. This just proves that nothing is safe and certainly that money talks. I will try and find the link again so everyone can see it. It had a trailer/teaser also for it and actually looked fairly good as much as I hate to say it. It has already been rumored that Bill Mosley will be playing the part of Dr. Challis and looks like d Haig as Cochran and Sherri Moon Zombie as Ellie Greenbridge.

Let us all hear what you think of this idea.

I heard something about that....They were going to put Tyler Mane in there as one of the robot assasns, as an homage to the Dick Warlock assasn in the original.

I think it's a horrible idea though, the original is a clasc.

I'm sure Rob will make everyone white trash and drag one of my favorite films through the crapper....

I saw this too and I was completely shocked. Just Wow. They even played the SSN theme song!

I just hope they keep as near to the rigional story and certainly don't f@ck with the lver Shamrock theme. The idea of Tyler being one of the assans would not shock me. I can't imagine what Wayne Toth would do to the masks either as I am sure he would be who Zombie gets to do the fx.

other than part 2 H3 is one of my favorites in the series after i saw this tidbit earlier all i could say to my self is "great another white trash rob zombie remake"

I just don't see why people no matter how much they hate Rob and his remakes need to start crap with me over this.

I have never started any crap with anyone. Sorry this may not be news everyone wanted but I thought people would want to hear about it.

I dont see why the fuck Rob is condered a money loving whore......we ALL work. The guy is lucky to do what he wants and all of y'all would be fibbing pretty big if you wouldnt want to be in his shoes financially. Who wouldnt want to make horror films for a living??? I do independent films and love every exhausting minute of it. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to be in charge of a big box office gig!

It boils down to the fact that its an industry thats governed by the studios....Rob had T Rex going. It was practically buried by the Weinsteins and wasnt going to see the light of day unless Rob did H2. Thats a fact.

For all we know Rob might have 5 original scripts of his own......its a weird time in the industry due to the economy. The studios want to invest in films that will guarantee a lucrative return at the box office. Remakes...love them or hate them do better than 99% of original horrors that come out these days. The SAW franchise was the one big exception. So why shouldnt RZ take on H3?

im not sure if its a great idea or not. part of me thinks it would be funny as hell to see him take it on but i just cant see anyone other than tom atkins as challis. with all the remakes out there this doesnt surprise me. if bloody pulled the article though it may just be a rumor.

This is in no way a shot at Rob Zombie. I am actually quite a fan of his work but I just don't want to see Halloween III remade. It's such a clasc campy movie that does well with its lower budget and funny almost absurd screenplay. Even though this is just a rumor I wouldn't be surprised if it gets made.

I've seen it a few times, and it just never found that place in my heart like the original did.

Unlike the original Halloween, I think there is actually a lot of room for improvement on this particular installment, so I'm hoping that this rumor is true.

I'd also really like to see a new take on the masks.

I can already imagine the new Shamrock trio tting right under my retro set.

I'd venture to guess that the majority of people that would line up to see this movie have never even seen the original.

Maybe a little new spin on this couldn't hurt and like some others have said, it was a good movie but not great. It has a lot of cool elements though that could be built upon in a remake. I'm for this.

No I agree with you ny ghoul. If it's going to be remade I have no qualms about Rob Zombie directing it. Like I said, I don't think it needs to be remade but if they do Zombie is a fine choice. I just hope the script doesn't get to crazy. This is still just a rumor though right?

Rob is not and can not turn every thing he remakes into gold. In fact, nothing he has done is gold. Devil's Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses are fun to watch but nothing to drool over.

Sam Raimi would actually be an excellent choice I think. I hadn't heard his name mentioned yet but I could see that working. However I think Rob would bring that dark gritty feeling that he is so popular for to H3 that I can see working better than Raimi's over the top nature. I don't know now you got me thinking.

Halloween III is slow paced; moody and dark. Its part 80's horror and part film noir. Sam Raimi? I dont see his phycal; comedic and over the top style of horror fitting in here. I'd give the nod to Jonathan Demme or Ridley Scott or someone else.

I wouldn't get that excited yet. This is all just rumor.

I also must admit with the pathetic way Hollywood can't come up with any origional ideas this would not shock me.

The Saw films are really the closest we have and they really suck IMO.

Nothing like what we had back in the day.

Rob had a chance to make a truly different film, but instead he took a few elements from the original, combined that with a little Jason and little Texas Chainsaw and voila!

I can only imagine what horrors would be unleashed upon us if he did H3.

God we need some good horror writers to emerge soon, I just want to see a really good original slasher again.

There have been some ok ones in recent years, but nothing good enough to leave a lasting mark.

As a fan I look forward to his movies and I enjoy his vion immensely. maybe its the style of horror I like. Films I hold dear to me (LHOTL; NY RIPPER; MANIAC; and many more) don't seem to be popular choices and thats fine. Rob's grittiness brings me back to the era of horror cinema that I enjoy most...the 70's into the early 80's. The times before political correctness.

I recall a few years ago it was Eli Roth and his brand of "porn-gore" that had people reaching for torches and pick axes. Now its RZ...this will come to pass. He's not a guy i turn to. He's not the only one either. My knowledge; involvement and love for horror cinema goes way beyond a lot of people's scopes. Thats not an insult. It just is.
