but let me clear this up for you, i didnt ask him to finish it for me when i went to his shop what i bacally asked was whether i could use his facilities and his asstance to finish the mask myself and as far as i know i will be doing so, it will be a nice lesson in mask making as well!

I plan to paint and hair my own... Not sure how it will come out, but for what it's worth I am ung Casey's masks as referance photos... I love his finishing work!

I have not commented on this in a while because I had high hopes about Bob. He has a great rep, he seems very kool and he seems well respected therfor I had no reason to bad mouth him and I still don't have any intention on bad mouthing him. But if I may, I'd like to just state my opinion about this tuation. Rather the Mr. Happy Blank is free or not, you shouldn't hold a contest and tell everyone who won that they are going to be getting a blank for free and then not send it. To me that is no better then selling one and not sending it.

You just don't do that. I for one wouldn't be near as dissapointed about this had he at least sent "US" an email or something saying that they would being put on hold due to "blah blah and so on an so on". I would have understood and then had no reason to think otherwise, but when there is no communication for understanding purposes what else am I soposed to think bedes we don't matter and the blanks are just not going to make it.

I havnt commented on this at all because i didnt enter the "contest" as i had no use for the blank. At this point id like to throw in my 2 cents. If Bob is aware of this thread i think it would be in his best interest to resolve this issue asap. There is NO acceptable reason to hold a contest for publicity to your myspace page and then not reward those you set out to promote to... These blanks arent being made to order (or made to win in this case ) 20 blanks should have already been pulled and tting ade waiting for shipment when this idea was launched. I feel comfortable in saying if it were a financial issue everyone that im aware of winning seemed excited enough to agree to pay shipping on the freebie blank... Like i said poor buness if it isnt resolved soon.

This is nothing personal against Bob, I don't know him at all, but this is why I didn't bother getting in on this free giveaway.

I have a hard enough time trying to light a fire under the artists that I send large wads of cash to.

Based on the average wait time for an item in the $200-$300 range, I'd predict that the wait time for a free item would be roughly one to ten years.

I just look at it as sad as it is for me to say a reason for me not to buy from him. It just shows to me that the lack of comunication is the biggest thing that turns me off. I was lucky enough to have been sent a pm from him saying tell me what kind of beer like everyone else as I had missed it(the contest) and he told me I was going to get one. I didn't care if he did in alot of ways but at the same time if you tell me I am getting one then I expect it on my doorstep at some point. This much of a delay for a blank to me just as I said makes me worry how long would I have to wait for an order I paid for? I was really looking forward to buying some items as I love the "f@cked up stuff that he has in his line-up but not now if this is how it works. I would have understood fully if it couldn't be doen or whatever. Hell I know my time has been taken up alot more with things and can't get everything one like I want but I make sure to get in touch with the people.

He might come through....its a busy time of year. maybe we'll get them just yet!

As a mask painter myself, I personally believe that what you say is worth its weight in gold. Even free, if I say something it carries as much weight as if someone paid. (my opinons, Im not in everyone's tuation)

In this hobby, there are too many scams, broken promises. I just think that even promotional freebies still reflect a maker's name.

With that being said, if something came up and he decided to not send these promised masks out, or there will be a gnifigant delay (I.E, he is too busy with real orders, and or has some real life things going on) then he should at least let us know. Even if it's to say "Hey sorry guys, but due to "this or that" I wont be able to send these out."

yeah Im thinking its a "knee jerk" reaction to the drama he was going thrr with someone else who had the "rights" to the mask/mold.

He says he smashed the mold, then i believed a "mold" popped up in another makers hands.... I could be wrong about that.

As much as I would like the blank I was promised, I would be okay if he just posted on here and let us know that its not going to happen and perhaps appologized. Or explained the delay

There was a contest for a Mr. Happy blank from Bob at F*ckdupstuff. The contest was a while ago and still nobody has gotten their mask.

it was a mr happy blank (a RZ style myers mask) he ran a contest and gave away 31 of them and sold a few as well

he also said the first ones were being sent out around august 15th

Hey guys, I've tried to get a hold of Bob with no avail. Bob was an advertiser here and will now be taken off the list. I just can't get in touch with him. I'm afraid this was one of those "too good to be true" deals unless Bob somehow comes through. It's ashame and I think he got caught up in drama that was going on there. Bob's a decent guy and I hate to see this happen but hey when you promise something and don't deliver people tend to get upset even though it was free.

I think that is the worst part to me is that I understand how Familly issues come up but have some contact and all. I don't mind not getting it as I said it was something I didn't pay for but if your going to say you will do it and then nothing it makes me really fear buying from them and Bob has some awesome stuff I was interested in buying till now.

I couldnt have said it better myself. Even though its a freebie... its a promise, and he should at least talk to us. I know things come up but just say something. I too have been buying some masks lately, (starting to collect non movie masks) and this alone kept me from buying from him.

I sent him an email damn near a month ago and on Sept-24-09 this is the responce I got from Bob himself:

It's obvious enough with no need to say, but they never did get mailed out that week like he said... Obviously everything is not "All Fine Now".

I have contacted him I'd say 4 times withen the past couple months and about 2 times after this... I sent him the link to this thread and told him he better let you guys know what is going on before shit hits the fan. And with no reply he failed to do so... Sorry it worked out the way it did, but I am rather Pissed off... For one thing he told me he was going to through in some extras for me to practice on because he said he wanted to help me out... So not only did I win the free blank, but was also promised others. For about a month straight I was checking my portch religiously in high hopes for a nice new package to be tting there so I could start practicing... I don't care anymore rather I get them or not and as far as this whole tuation is concerned, THERE'S NO REASON for him to not respond to this thread with a lousey mple apologee and explaination...

I don't care anymore, I don't give a shit... I'm done wondering...

The no responce certainly is what just made me send soemeone elsewhere for items he sells. I had bragged him up about the product trying to help anyone from here with sales and this is how it goes. I can understand familly issues as I certainly have enough of them going on right now but I would at least make sure at all costs to keep people updated. I guess it just shows we were not worth his time as his sales must be out of this world and I know this was a free masks but it certainly would have left many wanting to buy other stuff from him I'm sure.

Free or not, don't tell 20 some people they are getting something for free and then not ship it. It's not right to get everyone all fired up and then shoot'em all down by dragging them on for months and never responding.

Worst part is there has been more interest in this thread then making people happy by doing what was said.

Didn't the other guy say bob threatened to sell $20 blanks until the other guy bought bob's mold.

And didnt bob say he smashed the mold but everyone in the contest is still getting there mask?

There was a whole bunch of crap over the "master" molds and who had the rights and who didn't. I wonder if the ones on ebay ever got the ones sold on there or not?
