The Burning

I just couldn't belong to a te that didn't have some thread for this film. This is by far my favorite all time slasher film. I saw this way back or so it seems in the 80's and unfortunately had lost my copy and couldn't find another till around 5 years ago or less. The story is set up perfectly IMO as it is something you can see as being more posble then many slasher films out there plus the cast was all fun and believable. Seeing Brian Backer, Larry Joshua, Jason Alexander and Fisher Stevens plus the rest so young was awesoem especially seeing Jason Alexander with hair. The score was done masterfully IMO by Rick Wakeman and the spfx were of course amazingly done by the master himself Tom Savini. The kills were all top notch and of course one of the most recognized scenes in horror the raft scene is one that always gets talked about. Cropsy was so well done and will always be my top slasher icon. I highly reccomend anyone getting this on dvd if they don't have it(even if the cover sucks) and watch the doc with Tom Savini.

Tom Savini at his best! Some may say it's a carbon copy of F13 but it is one of those rare films that really give more. It's more scary definetly! The camera work has some cool angles, especially the raft massacre. A forgotten GEM indeed

from what i understand and someone correct me if im wrong, but wasnt the script for this written and turned down many times until f-13 came out?great movie great effects and jason alexander has hair!!!!!!!!!

As far as I know it was written and all long before Friday the 13th. This will never end though as people will forever call this a rip off of Friday the 13th especially with both having the campfire scene.

Friday copycat or not, I love it. Great cast, great humor, great kills and a great killer.

I look at it either way if they did rip it off ok and if not good. I like this one better anyways. lol
