Netflix Instant - Joe Dante's MATINEE (Like or Dislike) Let's Hear Your Opinions Bidites!

Having this new section here on the te dedicated to films on "Netflix Instant" will hopefully provide an area where we all can share our favorite Netflix Instant Streaming movies and the ones where we aren't so happy that we sat through them. A film I found the other day that I hadn't had the chance to see was director Joe Dante's (GREMLINS) film titled, MATINEE. The film stars John Goodman as an Alfred Hitchock type B-horror movie director in the 60's during the Cuban Misle Cris.

MATINEE (which is currently on "Netflix Instant" as I type this) is such a fun movie comedy/horror type film that has so many elements to the throwback B-movies that used nothing but gimmicks to sell movie tickets. The feature presentation from John Goodman (who plays director Lawrence Woolsey) is a film called MANT. Proming half man, half ant, all terror the title uses Woolsey's new "Atomo-Vion" which is just a gimmick where the seats shake in the theater and the speakers are turned way up.

MATINEE combines so many fun elements for horror fans that if you are even remotely into the genre I can't see you not liking this film. It's a light hearted look (much in the vein of say, THE BURBS) with plenty of comedy and a good plot that shows what the tenon was like back in the 60's during this Atomic cris.

Be sure to check the film out and I would love to hear your thoughts good or bad about this film.

Holy crap, my brother rented this once when I was still quite young, and I never knew what it was called. Awesome, finally gonna be able to re-watch it.

Hey great news Zack. I am hoping this area can be dedicated to films like this so we can all take advantage and here what others think about a particular film that is on Netflix Instant. They don't even have to be broken down into a review. We can just write a movie titled and mply write that we liked it or disliked it. I am praying this will be a tool for my own "selfish" reasons. :)

I want to know what others like or dislike and what films are out there that I need to check out or avoid. :)

Oooh I haven't seen this in ages, I'll have to check it out. I do so love Netflix streaming - you tend to find all sorts of things you'd never think to look for elsewhere.

Canadian Netflix? Why would it be different? I just assumed that it would be the same. That's odd and another fact I can squeeze into my brain. LOL!

I would think that licenng differs from country to country. Really, that's the only major downde to internet streaming. Different studios and distributors will strike up deals with different services and allow streaming only into specific areas. I've run into the same sort of issue on iTunes, where a particular song I'm looking for is licensed for download in the UK but not in the US.

I can see that Dew but Canada? I am shocked to learn that. I am looking up now how diminished the selection is. Makes no sense. Every country should be on a level playing field. Well maybe this new section will help us all identify what films to watch and in what country you need to be in to watch them. :)
