Well....It's Finally Here,The Trailer For Hellraiser: Revelations

Finally after all the wait here's the trailer for the latest installment in the Hellraiser series, Hellraiser:Revelations. So far people have given it just god awful reviews and judging by the trailer I don't blame them. First off it lacks the one thing every Hellraiser films needs: Doug Bradley. It also looks like it has the filming and acting quality found in your everyday Youtube video. Now I'm a big fan of the Hellraiser franchise and that's probably why I'm being so judgmental about this film, but you guys take a look and get your own opinions.

Look for it (or don't) on DVD and Blu-Ray, October 18.

I think it looks OK...in a guilty pleasure kind of way. New Pinhead sucks though.

It doesn't look too bad. My only problem is Pinhead's voice. It should be bellowing, deep and loud. Surely they would have been able to achieve this in post production.

Ok, if Doug Bradley played Pinhead in this, i think it would be worlds better. The trailer don't look all that bad, it's that pudgy looking pinhead that looks terrible.

Plus I very keen to see what they come up with for the remake. At least we know that will be a bigger budget film with some decent directors behind it.

film (probs not)? I'm not a huge hellraiser fan, but I still hate to see beloved horror franchises diminished to this level.

Plus the effects actually look great. Nice to see the skinless people back.

Having not seen the film I can't yet judge whether it'l be bad or not but I'm starting to wonder if all the negative comments are just based on Pinhead alone.

Again, the problem with these kind of films is that people hold them accountable to the original, like its supposed to be superior to the original or at least on par with it. As with the Nightmare remake, the Halloween remake and the Friday remake, The originals that those films were based on were are once in a lifetime films that came together like the perfect storm... They CAN NOT be outdone, no matter how great a script, how big a budget or how talented a cast... It goes beyond that. Pason and Dere made those films timeless, and thats something that you can not duplicate. You have to create your own.

If you take the remake film in general for whats it worth, remember what it is and stop holding it to an imposble task, you just might enjoy it.And one more thing... The Doug is the best Lead Cenobite/ Robert is the only Freddy/ Kane is the superior Jason arguments have been done,They're tired, and only make you sound like a Horror noob. Let it go.

And stop bitching, there's plenty of new and original stuff out there.

The pictures that Zombie Dude posted did look slightly more proming, but i can't get past the terrible acting in the trailer. And I'm not a fan of the one you used as your default image (NO OFFENSE!!!!!!!) it's a personal choice. I love the first three Hellraiser films pretty wholeheartedly. I'm a huge Pinhead fan. But I'm having trouble stomaching this.

But, like everyone's been saying, we really won't know until we see it.

Amateur crew, amateur acting, low budget fiasco. This straight to dvd shit fest is a waste of everyone's time and money and its an insult to the Hellraiser franchise. The third film was the last that I liked, and Ive hoped for many years for a return to form. This tells the fans (once again) F you!

You know... as much as I love Doug Bradley and the first 3 Hellraiser films (though they kinda lost me after that save for Bloodline), my response can be only summed up as such with this image I made and have been saving for such an occaon.

Acting in porn is more believable. No thanks.

Bradley promotes his dislike for this remake at horror conventions and sells shirts. Who could blame him? The proof is here lol!

I would like to point out that this is a pick buck film IF Clive Barker Calls it shit LITERALLY then that's a major clue on how bad it is. Watched the trailer and it felt like they where trying to do 'lost footage" i really hop this falls flat and they leave the franchise alone for a long time to come. This would be the reason we hate remakes this is the rule NOT the exception.

You know, even if Dimenon were contractually forced into doing this for legal reasons, they could have hired a smart, upcoming filmmaker looking to make a name for themselves. If they'd bothered to look I'm sure they could have found an Adam Green-type ready to jump at the challenge of making a quality Hellraiser movie fast and on the cheap. Clearly there was no thought put into this beyond a desperate attempt to retain rights.
