The First Affordable, Accurate Replica HALLOWEEN "Michael Myers" Mask Coming This Year!

This is a story that we have been following for sometime. We speculated last year that Don Post Studios, who previously owned the rights to the Micahel Myers mask, might have some competition from Trick or Treat Studios. It was announced this week that indeed Chris Zephro and his Trick or Treat Studios would be brining Michael Myers fans the first truly affordable, authentic looking HALLOWEEN Michael Myers masks ever mass-produced.

The mask was created by artist Justin Mabry (a tweak of his custom "Lunatic" Myers mask) and will be set for production later this year as announced during the recent Halloween Expo. The mask will be $59.99 and will be sold in stores everywhere nationwide. The mask will come in the traditional look and a "blood tears' veron that can ben seen at the end of HALLOWEEN 2 (1981) when Michael Myers is shot in the eyes.

This is really exciting news for fans of HALLOWEEN and Michael Myers around the globe as purchang a quality replica Michael Myers mask a few years ago would run you $300 to $400, some up to $1,000 or more (for just a replica). So needless to say, an affordable mask that looks this good is a win, win.

Check out the videos below and as always stay tuned as we will have plenty more on this story as we get it.

Hey Derek, I have no problem with sourcing MM.net but that is not where I got this story from. This was e-mailed to me personally and YouTube videos were added in the e-mail. I had no idea it was even on MM.net. If it was an excluve story then I would have sourced it that way but these were public domain YouTube videos and information that I received from a very trusted source that knew about the masks. They didn't mention MM.net nor did I for that reason. Not sure how that is a citing issue when it was a publicly made statement?

Have a great weekend man and as always no bad blood on this end, not sure why we are still having issues bud. It's horror and news that we all wanted as a community. I am as happy as can be that it finally happened as I am sure you are. At the end of the day I am sure you are just as concerned that the news got out to as many people as posble and it did. :)

Actually it was Universal that e-mailed me Derek about the story with the videos.

This is a non issue to the 10th degree. I didn't "not" cite MM.net on purpose and if you would have been profesonal and e-mailed me or called me about it I would have happily changed it, but you come on here and make a post that HorrorBid needs to properly cite you? I even phoned you 2 days ago about this but haven't heard back from you yet we discuss other issues from time to time like adverting, etc.

We have been nothing but courteous to each other over the years, not sure why that would change now? Sorry that we are making this a public back and forth Bidites.

Just to finally clear the air here over this quite absurd issue. I spoke with both Derek Degroot and Chris Zephro of Trick or Treat Studios and we did have full right to print this article. A bit of an over reaction from Derek (we all do that from time to time) but something that I can relate to as well. We also put the subject to

rest. This is now officially a non issue and all parties are happy this project is coming out and all tes are participating in spreading the word. Finally the fans are getting a Myers mask that they have wanted and deserve.

We mply were provided an e-mail to a story and reported on it, Derek was a bit skeptical on us getting the story but after the talks with all parties it was obvious we had the story as well, he was having a bad day and it could have been handled differently. Sorry this bleed to the te and from now on we all agreed that matters like this will be discussed profesonally behind the scenes.

Now back to your regularly scheduled HorrorBid and some fun! Lets all be excited about this!!!! :)

This should have been dealt with off of the forum, in private.

The mix up came because I knew on my end that Trick or Treat or Universal did not send that image to anyone but me. It turns out a third party somehow got a hold of this media and sent it to Justin, which was unknown to us.

This was a mix up. I felt I was being ripped off and not receiving any credit for the work I put in. Either way it's all in the past at this point - Justin and I have talked and this is behind us as far as I'm concerned.

Take Care, Derek

VERY cool.

I'm especially happy that they aren't going to be gouging fans.

I will be buying more than a few of these if they look as good as the pictures.
